DMCA Compliance
Respect for intellectual property is a foundational principle of the Homeschool Intent Letter website's mission to provide accessible and valuable resources to the homeschooling community. Understanding the importance of copyright laws, our commitment to compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is unwavering. This page details the procedures and policies in place to address concerns related to copyright infringement.
Notification of Alleged Infringement
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been reproduced on our site in a manner that constitutes copyright infringement, you are encouraged to notify our designated agent at dmca@hsintentletter.com. To ensure an effective response, your notification should include:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material.
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Response to Notifications
Upon receipt of a valid infringement notification, it is our policy to remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material, to notify the content provider, member, or user that we have removed or disabled access to the material, and that repeat offenders will have the infringing material removed from the website and will be subject to termination of their access to the website.
Counter-Notification Procedures
Those who receive a notification of infringement may provide a counter-notification to our designated agent if they believe the claim of infringement is based on a mistake or misunderstanding. The counter-notification must include the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification of the alleged infringement or an agent of such person.
Modification of Policy
It is important to note that this policy may be modified at any time, at our sole discretion, to ensure that our practices continue to comply with legal requirements and to efficiently address copyright concerns. All stakeholders are encouraged to regularly review this page for any changes to our DMCA compliance procedures.
